| When in 1867, the house was owned by literary agent John Foster Charles Dickens stayed at the Castle Lodge for two weeks discussing the detailed plans for his celebrated trip to America whilst few literary giants are visitors today, we hope that your stay with us will give you something to write home about. The lush meadows of Herefordshire provide the finest beef in all of England and our cuisine features all that the locality has to offer and more. Enjoy a candle lit supper with a fine bottle of wine after memorable day wandering the quiet byways of these rural borderlands. Sip a nightcap idly planning the next days adventure as Dickens himself must have done. All our tastefully decorated rooms have full en suite facilities, with central heating, direct dial telephones, colour TV and private bathrooms.
